When writing a spiritual story, there is really no exact formula. What matters most is the process of writing and the spiritual growth you experience. You may be writing the story initially just as a part of your own personal spiritual journey, or you may be writing the story because you really have a tale to share with everyone. Either way, you should go about the basic writing in the same manner.Follow these three suggestions to help make your writing its best.
1. Just Write
One of the most difficult things about spiritual writing, or any type of writing for that matter, can simply be to get the thoughts flowing.Allowing yourself to write without thinking will help avoid hitting writer's block.Make sure in the beginning stages that you don't over analyze what you're writing or judge it.
In the beginning you don't even have to edit anything; just let the ideas come to you. It is much simpler to delete, insert, and polish after the bulk of the content is written rather than trying to do it too deeply as you go. By following this tip, you may find that content emerges that is not what you originally had in mind…maybe even better.
2. Let Someone Read It
After you have your main ideas down, and maybe after a very basic re-write, find someone you know and trust and alone them to read your story. This is even helpful if you don’t intend to ever have the material published because their feedback may help you to clarify your thoughts and feelings on the subject matter more objectively. It may even spark new inspiration to add to the spiritual story or for a new story entirely.
If you do intend to have the writing seen by the world at large, ask the person to really give you a harsh critique. They should look at all aspects of the writing from the content, to the syntax, to grammar, to appeal. Have them discuss their feelings about the story and what type of thoughts reading the story lead them to. This is another great way to judge if your writing is effective and causes the reaction you intended. You may even find it brings up thoughts and feelings that were not intentional, but still very positive.
3. Edit and then Edit Some More
A great spiritual story is all about the message it contains, but if the writing isn't properly polished that message may get lost.Be sure to perfect your spelling and grammar. Reword any sentences that feel awkward or stilted. Reduce the content to only what is absolutely necessary to relay your story in the way you intend. Million dollar words are worthless if they aren’t the right words. Analyze how you might better use common literary devices in your writing such as alliteration, symbolism, and fore shadowing.Once it's finished (to you), let somebody else give it a read.
There will almost always be places it could still be perfected. You do not need to feel you must take the advice given, but if you choose not to take it, you should have analyzed it long enough to know why you don’t find it appropriate.
How I Used The Fresh Papaya (PawPaw):
The fruit was to be consumed ‘As is’ because we always have a small plate of fruit everyday around 5 pm.
I planned on adding a teaspoon of seeds into my Yogurt at lunchtime.
The ‘Coleslaw’ I would add to any Salad (even in a sandwich) as it’s summertime in Oz and we are eating a lot of Salads. Don’t know what I am going to do in the Winter though? If you have any ideas please add them as a comment so everyone can benefit.
I had also planned on five serves per day because I thought it would be better to ‘Drip Feed’ it into me, as my wife thinks I am a ‘Drip’ sometimes anyway – so that should fit.

Monday 6th Feb 2012: My Prostate Cancer Diary.
So here is the problem. I have dismissed Surgery completly and that leads me to Radio Therapy as the only available conventional medical alternative.
My Oncologist want me to have Hormone Treatment to:
- a: Slow the Growth of the Cancer cells by (basically) chemically castrating me. Ouch!
- b: Shrink the Prostate down to a smaller target for his magic Death Ray.
I didn’t want to do that with Hormone treatment, but can appreciate why he wants to do that.
So I’m looking into all types of Natural and Alternative medications.
The best I have come up with is PawPaw (Papaya) as there have been quite a few studies with very promising reasults, PLUS it has been… Continue reading Prostate Cancer Diary - My Natural Alternative
Prostate Treatments and Me.
Long time coming since my last post – but I have been kinda busy…. Tests – tests and more tests
So this is the latest:
My Urologist sent me to the Radio Oncologist because I decided I do NOT want surgery. Apparently I can’t have Brachyatherapy (my original choice) because my Gleason Score is 8 – too high, so External Beam Therapy is the only option, even though they only found cancer cells in ONE of the TEN Biopsies they took.
HOWEVER: (I am discovering LOTS of ‘Howevers’), the Oncologist wants me to have Hormone Treatment first to bring my enlarged prostate down in size.
An ‘Average’ prostate is about 40mm – about the size of a small Plum -… Continue reading My Personal Prostate Cancer Treatment Options
