2.      Promotional opportunities are not employed efficiently in marketing the article.

Besides employing article marketing to increase your backlinks, do you know that the same article can also be employed to attain more visitors and better search engine results? How this is done is by implanting keywords in strategic places.  This is a great strategy, but you do need to be careful not to over do them.  This keyword placement is attained with the use of an effective method called anchor texts. Unfortunately, most directories do not support the practice of anchor texts in the body of the article, but they do allow writers to use them in the author resource box.  However, a few of these directories do allow you to position these anchor texts in the article body.  To make sure what the general practice is for each directory, please check their editorial or article submission guidelines before you submit your article.

In article marketing, one of the purposes for submitting your article is for other publishers with a large number of audiences to pick up your article.  This will happen if you submit good quality article.  Not only will these publishers gladly publish your article, you will also obtain the capacity to leverage your promotion as a result of this.  In addition to article marketing directories, a lot of people also use another kind of article marketing service that  uses blog submission in distributing your articles.  One of the advantages you will acquire using this kind of article marketing service is ability to spin your article so that each blog submission will have a unique content.  They distribute your article to different blogs at one time resulting in a faster distribution, so you don’t have to depend on other publishers to pick up your article.  Besides building your backlinks, article marketing will also supply you with the benefit of better search engine placement.

3. Content publication that is low in quality

Creating interesting and valuable articles that directories want to share with others will result in the multiplication of the number of sites wanting to publish your article.  With the multiplication of the number of sites publishing your article your audience will potentially build overnight.  One publisher with hundred thousand readers will have done this.  To get the most effective way out of your article marketing you need to create articles that the publishers will want to have in their publications.  As long as you produce good and interesting content and follow the publisher guidelines, the publisher will gladly approve and publish your article.

It all comes down to you and the choice you make, whether you just want a little exposure from a minimal level of increased backlinks, or a massive exposure by generating quality contents. As you can see, the level of exposure you will get from an average quality and highly-targeted content geared on definitive group of people will be much, much different.  You will gain huge dividends from your article marketing if you can discern and implement this in your writing.
