The thing about having your own blog - as opposed to writing for your business - is the lack of focus. On my other sites I know what I have to write about because the main theme or thrust is Jewelry and Gemstones.
That's what I write about.
But here - it's about me. So am I just wasting my time?
When I purchased my blogs domain from GoDaddy, just before Christmas 2008, I did so because I wanted to buy my two grandsons, Blayne and Brayden, their own domains as a Christmas present.
You know - before they are all gone, type of thing...
So while I was there - as usual GoDaddy prompted me with "Hey - DavidFoard.com is available," so I bought it to add to the other 50 or so domains I currently own.
After setting up three more WordPress Blogs for Christmas - I then came to the realization that I would have to come here a few times a week - a write stuff - NOT JEWELRY RELATED!
Phew - this is harder than I thought.
But that has at least made my reflect on - Well - ME?
[hidepost]What and who am I?
What have I done with my life which might be of interest to other people?
What other skills or talents do I possess which could entertain, amuse or just bewilder - readers?
I needed to take stock of just who this 62 year old Father to three - Grandfather to eight - husband for 44 years (YES - to the same beautiful woman), Gemologist, retailer, antique dealer, Travel agent, teacher and writer - really was -err I mean IS!
So this is it - I have decided just what to do on my personal Blog.
I am going to write about my personal passion (no not sex) - but writing.
This is going to be my platform to showcase the hundreds or short stories, novels and books that I have written. Hey I might even start a class (after all I DID teach Creative Writing at our local college) long before I discovered PhP and MYSQL and Databases and Internet companies and the like.
I trust I will not let you down - as I was very pleasantly surprised to see I am number one on Google for - Wait for it - David Foard - DuhhhÂ
Oh well - at least I'm NOT wasting my time.
